100% Renewable Energy for Our Facilities
FinnSonic is committed to continuous improvement in sustainability, making responsible choices today to build a better tomorrow. By choosing FinnSonic, you support a business that prioritizes quality, safety, and environmental responsibility.
Since 2019, FinnSonic has achieved a significant reduction in CO₂ emissions, cutting approximately 30 tons of CO₂ emissions by 2022. This achievement reflects our continuous efforts to optimize our operations for energy efficiency and environmental responsibility.
We are proud to power our head office and factory in Lahti, Finland, with 100% renewable electricity. In October 2022, we took an additional step by switching to 100% renewable heating from Lahti Energia Oy’s Green Heat (Vihreä lämpö), which is produced locally just a few kilometers from our factory. This heating solution is entirely carbon dioxide-free, and the origins of the fuels used are verified annually.

Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi)
In September 2024, FinnSonic joined the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This partnership underscores our dedication to setting emissions reduction targets that align with climate science and contribute to global efforts to limit warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.
Built for a Sustainable Lifecycle
FinnSonic’s cleaning machines and lines are engineered for durability and sustainability. Constructed primarily from recyclable stainless steel sourced mainly from Finnish suppliers, our machines are built to last—typically operating efficiently for 20 years or more. When they eventually reach the end of their lifespan, the majority of materials can be recycled, minimizing waste and supporting a circular economy.

Sustainable Product Design example with FinnSonic Optima Line
Our commitment to sustainability extends to our products. For example, our bespoke 6-stage Optima line in 2022 integrates environmentally responsible manufacturing practices:
- Local Sourcing: 95% of direct purchases for our six-stage Optima line came from Finland, including 100% of subcontracted parts and 80% of materials sourced locally. This local sourcing minimizes transportation emissions and supports the local economy.
- Quality and Longevity: Our products are designed to enhance the quality and longevity of components, supporting a longer lifecycle for both our cleaning units and the end products they serve. This approach reduces the need for frequent replacements, making the process more sustainable.
Responsible Purchasing and Local Impact
FinnSonic’s commitment to sustainability is also evident in our purchasing practices. In average, over 70% of our company’s direct purchases were made within Finland, with over 40% of these purchases coming from suppliers located within a 40 km radius of our factory. This proximity reduces shipping distances, supporting local businesses and minimizing transportation emissions.

Our enclosed washing units protect operators and reduce exposure to harmful chemicals, providing a safer working environment.
